Roshan Singh

Hi, I'm Roshan.

I live in Mumbai and build software, mostly for people who are learning things. I'm Entrepreneur in Residence at Malpani Ventures, and on weekends I study computer science at BITS Pilani.

Here is what I spend my time on.

Eklavya is a free learning app in 23 Indian languages, with a live voice classroom called Vidya. I started it in October 2025 and wrote it on my own for the first seven months. Three of us build it now. More than a million students use it in a month, most of them preparing for exams.

Apni Pathshala runs learning centres across India where students share computers. I look after the software: Shiksha OS, the Linux those computers run; VED, which the staff run the centres with; and Apni Prerna, which keeps students safe online. There are about 150 centres now, in 23 states.

Chromium is where my spare evenings go. A dozen of my changes have landed so far, mostly in the image fetcher, web apps and iOS, and a few more are in review. The reviewers there are patient, and I have learned a lot from them.

Security is the other hobby. I look for bugs in browsers. One of them, a use-after-free in Chromium's Linux file chooser, became CVE-2026-113133 and was fixed within two days. This October I came second in the Indian Army's Terrier Cyber Quest, which was a lot of fun.

Investing, from the engineering side. At Malpani Ventures I build the tools the fund runs on, including one that reads every pitch that comes in, and I help with technical due diligence. I rebuilt malpaniventures.com too. Part time, I do automation and security work for Solidarity Advisors, an investment manager in Mumbai.

Civic tools, all open source. Empowered Indian makes MPs' development-fund spending easy to search, and other people have contributed to it, which I'm grateful for. Save Goa and Indian Potholes send complaints to the people who can fix them. I also send pull requests to projects I use, like OpenClaw, Dokploy and Google's OSV-SCALIBR.

Before all this I worked in technical support at Concentrix for a little over a year.

If any of this is interesting to you, write to me at roshanasingh4@gmail.com. I read everything.
